We live in a world where speed, convenience, and consumption often outweigh connection, care, and fulfillment. Design shapes this reality by creating products and experiences that make us buy more while feeling less.
In this talk, Ida will introduce us to DesignShifts: a new project she launched that invites us to imagine a different future—one where care, community, and collective flourishing are at the center of our lives and our work.
Together, we’ll explore intentional shifts to challenge old assumptions, imagine better futures, and transform design from a tool that contributes to division, destruction, and isolation into a practice that reconnects us to our inner selves, each other, and nature.

Ida Persson is an independent systems designer and creative strategist based in Munich, working globally across social innovation and regenerative futures.
Rather than designing things, she designs the conditions for collective flourishing, working at the scale of systems, relationships, and culture.
She is the founder of DesignShifts, a critical design lab exploring non-extractive design methods for systemic transition. Originally from Sweden, she previously spent 15 years leading design and strategy work at IDEO, Media Cause, and Modo Modo Agency.
