25-MINUTE TALK

Good Job: Making hiring and getting hired suck a lot less

Job seeking can be a slog, for hiring managers and job seekers alike. It’s preparation, time, and emotional investment for not a lot of payoff. But what if it doesn’t have to be?

What if we take the same approach to hiring and getting hired that we do to doing our jobs: empathy, design principles and considering the core user experience?

In this talk, Margo will consider both sides of the table, and how a strategic and thoughtful job search can lead to better job fits, fewer terrible interviews, and actually make the whole thing a legitimately good time.

She’ll cover:

  • Strategic frameworks for setting up a search

  • Designing interviews to feel like conversations

  • Using storytelling techniques to highlight strengths and skills
