about our scholarships
We’re committed to making Throughline accessible to as many designers as possible—particularly those who are underrepresented or marginalized in the field, and who could not afford to attend otherwise.
Scholarship applications for 2026 have not yet opened. Right now, we’re looking for sponsors to help cover the cost of these tickets, so we can offer as many scholarships as possible.

who should apply
Throughline is not a financial aid office, not a loan officer, and definitely not the cops. We won’t ask you for a sob story or bank statement. But we do ask that you take this criteria seriously.
We’re a tiny company, and tons of people could use support right now. Please help us reserve these seats for those who truly need them by only applying if you meet our criteria.
Financial need criteria
We are offering these scholarships to those with clear financial need. Some examples of financial need include:
You have lost your source of income.
You are currently experiencing financial crisis.
You are paid in a currency/local wage that makes purchasing a conference ticket in US Dollars inaccessible.
You do not have access to employer support or professional development funds, and cannot afford to pay out of pocket.
Additional considerations
During the application, we will also ask:
Why you want to attend. We'll ask you to write 2-3 sentences about your interest in Throughline. This ensures scholarship tickets go to those who are committed to attend and will get the most out of it.
More about your identity. If we receive more requests than we have scholarships available, we will prioritize people from groups that are marginalized in design: people of color, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, immigrants, and those whose first language is not English. Providing this information is optional.
application process
Scholarship applications will open in November, and stay open for at least 3 weeks. We’ll notify all applicants about their status by January 2.
